Currently,as wheat gradually ripens and enters the harvesting period,farmers in LuoZhuang District,Linyi City,Shandong Province,seize the opportunity of fine weather to start reaping the wheat,ensuring that the summer grains are safely stored.
With the wheat fields rolling like waves and the roar of machines,on the early morning of June2,2024,in the wheat fields on both sides of the road in Chudun Village,Chudun Town,20harvesters and balers shuttle back and forth among the wheat waves,followed closely by straw balers.Farmers are busy transporting and drying the harvested wheat,presenting a bustling scene.
To expedite the harvest and ensure that all summer grains are collected,Chudun Town has taken multiple proactive measures to safeguard the storage of summer grains.By strengthening the implementation of responsibilities,over ten comprehensive operation teams integrating harvesting,transportation,and packaging have been established,which not only facilitates the masses but also reduces harvesting costs.The town also organizes staff to go deep into the frontline of harvest to carry out services such as promoting the prohibition of straw burning,advocating for recycling,and coordinating agricultural machinery,ensuring the orderly progress of the"three summers"work.
It is understood that due to the relatively low rainfall in April this year and the dry soil,in order to ensure timely harvesting of wheat,agricultural technical personnel in LuoZhuang District have entered the fields to guide farmers in timely carrying out"one spray and three defenses"operations.Village party branches have also established cooperatives to utilize favorable irrigation conditions for drought resistance irrigation to enhance soil moisture and consolidate the foundation for stable wheat production and increased yields.According to preliminary estimates,the total output of wheat in LuoZhuang District is expected to reach95,000tons on190,000mu of land in2024,an increase of6%over last year,with the complete harvesting of wheat expected around the Grain Rain Day on June5.
